I have pneumonia & bronchitis and this morning I woke up with terrible sharp pains in the left side of my back?

It hurts when I move and when I breathe so I have to take tiny breaths. Now the military told me not to come back unless I had shortness of breath or if my symptoms got worse. Does this count as shortness of breath because I am forced to take in such little air due to the pain? I don't know. I just am wondering if anybody knows what in the world this could be!! I am trying not to freak out but I don't know if it's my lungs or muscles or what!! It hurts really bad though, on a scale of 1-10 this would be about a 8.5 (but only when breathing deeply, coughing (which i can't help), or moving around...) Any thoughts? Please help!!
