Laptops replacing desktops?

ok here people talking about that desktops will be replaced by laptops now what i don,t get is that why would some want to replace desktops ,desktops are more comfortable to use and some even think that we will be able to fit full function OS's on our cell phones ,if you ask me i would hate haveing to use my cell phone for all the stuff i do on my desktop so why do people want to get rid of desktops and make it were companys have more control over the hardware that you use just because some one can make it smaller
