What's a tough violin piece?

While not the most tuneful of violin concertos, one which many soloists shy away from because of its fiendish difficulty (and because it won't fill many concert halls!) is the one by Arnold Schoenberg. Hilary Hahn (of whom I am not normally a fan because of her accurate but soulless playing) has just released what will probably turn out to be the benchmark recording of this piece.
