What is this movie called?

When I was a child I saw a very special movie on swedish television one night. I loved the movie and have been wondering since then what it was called. It was an american/british film.Here is a summary of the story, unfortunately I can only remember fragments of the plot: A very mean lady owns a hotel. The owner asks all women who check in if they are orphans. If they are, roomservice will kidnap them and force them to work in a firework factory nearby. I think the owner of the hotel also owns this factory. Other fragments that I can remember is an elvator which only works if people tap dance in it. I think the fireworks factory explodes in the end of the movie and all women are released. They also sing a song in this movie called: hop like a kangaroo . Yes the plot sounds crazy and it was a very funny movie, maybe it was a muscial? Can anyone help me with the title?
